The Rev. John Marcantonio Appointed Interim Vicar

Bishop Kevin D. Nichols has appointed the Rev. John Marcantonio as Interim Vicar of Trinity Church in West Pittston. Marcantonio had a 20-year career in healthcare administration after serving as a Roman Catholic priest for 12 years. He was received as a priest in the Episcopal Church in 2010 in the Diocese of Newark, and recently completed a six-month assignment as Interim Assisting Priest at the Cathedral Church of the Nativity.

During this time of transition, Bishop Kevin has appointed a highly experienced group of individuals to serve as Vestry of the newly-designated Mission Church. The Vestry now includes Judy Stevenson, Raymond Arcario, and Ty Welles.

Marcantonio’s first Sunday at Trinity will be August 4. The new Vicar brings energy and optimism to West Pittston. “I was invited to ‘build up a church anew.’ How could I refuse?”, wrote Marcantonio. “To start, I will be workingwith incredibly dedicated and talented individuals. Furthermore I am encouraged by the persistent biblical thread of remnant-what wonders God can work with a remnant!”
