Honoring our mission statement–“Working and praying together to live and build Holy
Community,” Trinity West Pittston is committed to taking an active role in our community.
Our Giant Neighborhood Yard Sales and seasonal events such as Breakfast with the Easter Bunny bring hundreds of neighbors onto our grounds to share fun and fellowship with our Trinity family…
and we open our grounds to community groups in need of space for activities that enrich the community.
In the aftermath of the 2011 flooding that affected one third of West Pittston Borough, Trinity made a special effort to help our neighbors by organizing distributions of food, water, cleaning supplies, furniture, gift cards and other items as our way of living out the Episcopal promise that “we are here for you.”
Trinity’s response to the 2011 flooding led to an expansion of disaster preparedness and response efforts in the Episcopal Diocese of Bethlehem, and representatives from Trinity have taken part in disaster response and community resiliency efforts through involvement in West Pittston Tomorrow as well as the Luzerne County Disaster Recovery Coalition, and regionally as part of the disaster response of the Diocese of Bethlehem and the national Episcopal Church through Episcopal Relief & Development.
Trinity’s ongoing ministries reach out to those who are struggling, through programs such as our Feed-A-Friend food pantry and frozen meals. And our MUSICare Project featuring Music Together ministry supports young families who build strong bonds while having fun singing, dancing and moving to songs that enrich their children and create wonderful memories for the whole family.
At Trinity West Pittston, community isn’t just where we are–it’s our mission–to Live and Build Holy Community..
